International Women's Day: Centro 6 Minute Lowdown

International Women's Day has been recognized and celebrated since the early 1900s, a time of great expansion and turbulence in the industrialized world that saw booming population growth and the rise of radical ideologies.

It was only 100 years ago when women from only two countries were allowed to vote; now, IWD is observed by women and public institutions in all countries and is a statutory holiday in 14 countries.

To commemorate the centenary of IWD, Centro Business Lounge and The Chicks Who Click hosted the 6 Minute Lowdown in spirit of International Women's Day. This informal networking event was represented by local women from a variety of professional backgrounds. 6-minute talks from 6 women who shared their personal and professional experiences surrounding themes of development, community, leadership, independence and entrepreneurship.

If you missed this sold-out event, you can listen to the audio recording of these presentations here on Culcher.
